How to Get an Amazon Gift Card With RevPoints

Revolut lets you exchange RevPoints for an Amazon gift card directly in the app. The Amazon card gives you a redemption code, you copy it and apply to your Amazon account, and the balance sits there until you spend it.

Here is how it works, what it costs, and what to watch for.

What the Amazon RevPoints Gift Card Offers

The Amazon card is a code-redeemable gift card which you can get right in the Revolut app. You exchange your points, receive a code, and apply it to your Amazon account manually. The amount is then added to your Amazon balance and can be used toward any purchase on the platform.

This is the traditional gift card format — no automation, but no restrictions on what you buy. Books, electronics, groceries, household goods: anything sold on Amazon is fair game.

There is no discount for buying a higher denomination — a £/€100 card costs exactly ten times what a £/€10 card costs

RevPoints at a Glance

RevPoints is Revolut's loyalty programme which transforms ordinary transactions and everyday spending into opportunities for savings and perks. Every time you pay with your Revolut card, you earn points. The earning rate depends on your plan:

  • Standard and Plus: 1 point per £/€10 spent
  • Premium: 1 point per £/€4 spent
  • Metal: 1 point per £/€2 spent
  • Ultra: 1 point per £/€1 spent

You can also earn points through spare change round-ups (the app rounds up each purchase to the nearest whole number and converts the difference into points), in-app challenges, Revolut Pay purchases (which give double points), and bookings through Stays and Experiences. Once earned, points are valid for 3 years.

A Practical Example

Say you are on a Metal plan and spend £/€2,000 per month through your Revolut card. Metal earns 1 point per £/€2 spent: 1,000 points a month, 6,000 in six months. That is enough for a £/€25 Amazon gift card plus a €10 one, with a few points left over.

On Ultra (1 point per £/€1), the same spending produces 12,000 points in six months. That covers a £/€50 card comfortably, plus £/€25 and £/€10 ones, with some points to spare.

On Standard (1 point per £/€10), a year of spending at £/€1,500 per month yields about 1,800 points — enough for a £/€10 Amazon card. A modest return, but it costs nothing beyond purchases you already make.

The difference between plans matters. Metal earns five times faster than Standard. Ultra earns ten times faster. If most of your monthly spending runs through Revolut, a higher-tier plan turns the same habits into noticeably larger gift cards.

How to Redeem RevPoints for Amazon Gift Cards

The process takes about a minute:

  1. Open the Revolut app
  2. Tap ‘RevPoints’ on the bottom menu
  3. Select ‘Gift Cards’
  4. Find ‘Amazon’ and tap it
  5. Choose your amount (£/€10, £/€25, £/€50, or £/€100)
  6. Tap ‘Get my gift card’

You will receive a code. Copy it, then go to Amazon:

  1. Log in to your Amazon account
  2. Go to ‘Your Account’ → ‘Gift Cards’ → ‘Redeem a Gift Card’
  3. Paste the code and confirm

The amount is added to your Amazon gift card balance immediately. It stays there with no expiry until you use it on a purchase.

To find your codes later: RevPoints → Gift Cards → ‘My Cards’ (top right corner). All previously redeemed cards are listed, and you can copy the code again if needed.

What to Know Before You Redeem

You cannot undo it. Amazon gift cards cannot be exchanged or refunded once purchased through Revolut. Choose your amount with care. If you select £/€100 but only need £/€25, there is no way to reverse the difference.

The code is tied to a specific Amazon store. The gift card shown in the UK app is for Amazon.co.uk. If you shop primarily on Amazon.de, Amazon.fr, or another regional store, check whether your app offers a card for that marketplace. The selection depends on your country of registration.

Gift cards from Revolut are for personal use. You cannot resell them or transfer them to another Revolut user.

RevPoints expire. Points are valid for three years. The app flags points approaching their deadline — within 90 days of expiry. If your points are about to lapse and you order from Amazon with any regularity, converting them to an Amazon card is a practical way to preserve their value. The gift card balance on Amazon does not expire, so you effectively extend the life of those points indefinitely.

Why Amazon Works Well for RevPoints

Most gift cards in the Revolut programme are tied to a single brand or category. A Ryanair card is useful only if you fly Ryanair. An Adidas card matters only if you buy Adidas.

Amazon is different. The platform sells nearly everything: electronics, clothing, groceries, books, home goods, subscriptions. A £/€25 Amazon card is not a discount at one store — it is £/€25 off your next purchase of almost anything. That breadth makes it one of the most flexible redemption options in the programme.

It also removes the timing pressure that comes with auto-applied cards. An auto-applied card expires one year after redemption and requires you to pay in a specific currency at a specific merchant within that window. An Amazon code, once applied to your account, sits in your balance until you spend it. No deadline, no currency constraint, no risk of forgetting.

When the Amazon Card Makes Sense

The card suits anyone who orders from Amazon regularly — which, for most people in the UK and Europe, requires no change in behaviour at all. You are not committing to fly a particular airline or shop at a particular clothing brand. You are converting points into credit at a store you likely already use.

It also works as the simplest first redemption for someone new to RevPoints. If you have accumulated a few thousand points and are not sure how to spend them, a £/€10 or £/€25 Amazon card is a low-risk way to see immediate value from the programme.

Is an Amazon gift card a good use of RevPoints?

It's the practical floor, not the best value: 14,000 points buys a £100 Amazon card — 0.7p per point (£10 = 1,400, £25 = 3,500, £50 = 7,000). Airline transfers pay 1–2p per point, so gift cards make sense mainly for clearing a balance you'd never fly with, or when you need guaranteed, blackout-free value. Redemptions are final — gift cards can't be converted back to points.
