Revolut credit cards UK: launch status and confirmed facts
Sifted reported on 4 June 2026 that Revolut's UK CEO said it planned five UK credit-card products, but none launched as of 7 August 2026. Revolut's UK Help Centre still says it does not offer credit cards, loans or overdrafts in GB. Its UK bank already launched on 11 March; no public card launch date or specifications exist yet.
What is actually confirmed?
Revolut's current UK Help Centre excludes GB from its eligible credit-card countries.
“Soon” was the only timing language reported; it is not a launch date.
No names, plan mapping, earn rates, fees, APRs, limits, network or benefits are public.
Confirmed vs expected disclosures
“Expected disclosure” below means information a lender normally has to publish before customers can judge a card. It is not a prediction about Revolut's eventual terms.
| Area | Confirmed today | Expected disclosure at launch — unknown now |
|---|---|---|
| Number of products | Confirmed Five different UK products are planned. | Names and the intended audience for each card. |
| GB availability | Confirmed No Revolut credit card is currently offered in GB. | Launch date, rollout scope and any waiting-list process. |
| Plan or tier mapping | Unannounced No source maps a card to Standard, Plus, Premium, Metal or Ultra. | Whether cards connect to plans at all. |
| Rewards | Unannounced No UK credit-card RevPoints earn rate is published. | Earn rate, exclusions, caps, redemption rules and any welcome offer. |
| Cost of borrowing | Unannounced No representative APR, purchase rate or interest-free period is published. | Representative example, rates and repayment terms. |
| Fees | Unannounced No annual, foreign-spend, cash or late-payment fees are published. | Complete fee schedule and plan-fee interaction. |
| Eligibility and limits | Unannounced No score, income, limit or rollout criteria are published. | Eligibility checks, credit limits and underwriting disclosures. |
| Network and protections | Unannounced No card network, Section 75 positioning or insurance benefits are published. | Network, purchase protection, chargeback and insurance terms. |
Do not copy specifications from Revolut credit cards in Ireland, Lithuania or other markets. Those products do not establish UK terms. Likewise, current UK debit-plan RevPoints rates are not evidence for future credit-card earn rates.
Regulatory status correction
Is Revolut still waiting for final UK banking approval?
No. Revolut's own 11 March 2026 announcement says the Prudential Regulation Authority lifted the restrictions on its banking licence and approved the launch of Revolut Bank UK Ltd. A May explainer says the mobilisation phase is complete, the licence is without restrictions and the bank is open.
That does not make a credit card live. The current UK Help Centre still says there are no Revolut credit cards, loans or overdrafts in GB. Public sources do not itemise what product, commercial, operational or compliance steps remain, so this tracker does not invent a reason for the gap.
Revolut UK credit-card timeline
- Restricted banking authorisation.
Revolut entered the mobilisation phase. This historical status is no longer current.
- Restrictions lifted; UK bank launched.
Revolut said the PRA approved its exit from mobilisation and launch as a fully licensed UK bank.
- Five-card plan reported.
At Money20/20, UK CEO Francesca Carlesi confirmed plans for five different UK credit-card products and said they would go live “soon”. No specifications or date were reported.
- Still unavailable in GB.
Revolut's current UK Help Centre continued to say it offers no credit products in GB and listed six eligible credit-card countries without GB.
Is it worth getting a Revolut credit card?
There is not enough information to decide. A useful verdict needs the representative APR, annual fee, reward earn and redemption value, foreign-spend terms, eligibility, credit limit, protections and benefits. None has been published for the planned UK cards.
When terms arrive, compare value after fees rather than points alone, and only model rewards on spending you would make anyway. Interest can erase rewards quickly if a balance is not repaid in full.
How could a future Revolut card stack up against Amex?
The current fee-free American Express Rewards Credit Card provides a useful, sourced baseline: one Membership Rewards point per full £1 of eligible spend and no annual fee. At £500, £1,500 or £3,000 monthly spend, that is 6,000, 18,000 or 36,000 base points a year.
Revolut's column starts as Not available because its UK credit-card rate, point value and fee are unannounced. Enter your own assumptions to run a sensitivity test; the inputs are not forecasts.
Enter all three hypothetical Revolut inputs to calculate its scenario.
| Monthly spend | Annual spend | Amex base points | Amex illustrative net value | Hypothetical RevPoints | Hypothetical Revolut net value |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| £500 | £6,000 | 6,000 | £27.00 | Not available | Not available |
| £1,500 | £18,000 | 18,000 | £81.00 | Not available | Not available |
| £3,000 | £36,000 | 36,000 | £162.00 | Not available | Not available |
Formula: annual points × your pence-per-point value ÷ 100 − annual fee. Amex uses one point per £1, £0 annual fee and the editable 0.45p input, matching the official 1,000 points = £4.50 American Express Travel redemption example. Point currencies and benefits are not interchangeable. Welcome offers, interest, protections and non-reward value are excluded.
Revolut credit cards UK: questions answered
Does Revolut offer a credit card in the UK?
No. As of 7 August 2026, Revolut's UK Help Centre says it does not offer credit cards, loans or overdrafts in GB, and GB is absent from its eligible credit-card countries.
When will Revolut launch UK credit cards?
No public launch date exists. Revolut's UK CEO said the five planned products would arrive “soon” on 4 June 2026, but that word is not a date or rollout commitment.
How many Revolut UK credit cards are planned?
Five different products are planned, according to Revolut UK CEO Francesca Carlesi's 4 June 2026 comments reported by Sifted. Their names and audiences have not been published.
Will Revolut credit cards earn RevPoints?
Revolut has not published a UK credit-card reward currency or earn rate. Current UK debit-plan rates and products in other countries do not prove what these cards will offer.
Is Revolut waiting for final UK banking approval?
No. Revolut says the PRA lifted its banking-licence restrictions and approved its UK bank launch on 11 March 2026. Credit cards remain unavailable, but public sources do not say final banking approval is the blocker.
Is the IHG × Revolut card a credit card?
No. The IHG × Revolut Essential and Elite products are debit cards that earn IHG One Rewards points. They are separate from the five planned UK credit-card products.
Is it worth getting a Revolut credit card?
It is too early to know. Wait for published APRs, fees, rewards, eligibility, limits and protections, then compare total value and borrowing cost with cards already available.
How would a Revolut credit card compare with Amex?
No direct product comparison is possible yet. The Amex scenario above shows a current one-point-per-pound baseline, while Revolut results remain unavailable until explicit hypothetical inputs are entered.
