London to Dubai with Avios, RevPoints or Amex points

The official Avios map currently lists London airports to Dubai International from 27,500 Avios + £75 one way in economy, per person. At British Airways’ verified 1:1 rate, that floor starts at 27,500 RevPoints or UK Amex Membership Rewards points.

Verified 19 July 2026: this is a dated BA planning floor for DXB, not a live quote or reward-seat availability claim. It does not price Emirates, Qatar, Finnair or Turkish Airlines, and it never applies to DWC or AUH. Search the exact airport, carrier and date before transferring.

LHR, LGW or STN—but always DXB

“London to Dubai” is not one airport pair. The planner validates each carrier’s audited origin matrix while keeping the destination fixed to Dubai International.

London airport matrix

  • British Airways and seasonal Finnair start at LHR only.
  • Emirates can start at LHR, LGW or STN.
  • Qatar and Turkish can start at LHR or LGW on the audited connecting paths.

Dubai airport and season

  • Every path ends at DXB; DWC, AUH and surface transfers are outside this dossier.
  • Finnair’s LHR–HEL–DXB service is currently published only from October 2026 through March 2027.
  • Even inside that window, use Finnair only when a current complete-itinerary search returns the service.

Finnair chart illustration: 12,000 Avios for LHR–HEL plus 28,000 Avios for HEL–DXB equals 40,000 Avios in economy one way on Finnair-operated segments. The published route surcharges total €45 before taxes and passenger fees. This is chart arithmetic, not a through-fare, live quote, seat claim or calculator default.

RevPoints or Amex: Dubai makes the difference clear

Choose the booking programme first. A familiar airline name does not prove that both source currencies can reach it.

RevPoints routes

  • BA, Qatar and Turkish each have current programme-owned 1:1 evidence; recheck the live Revolut app before the final transfer.
  • Finnair is listed, but its shared public wording is only “up to 1:1”, so enter the ratio shown in your app.
  • Emirates is not on Revolut’s public UK airline-partner list. The planner disables that unsupported combination.

Amex Membership Rewards routes

  • BA and Qatar transfer at 1:1; Emirates transfers at 2 MR points to 1 Skywards Mile.
  • Finnair is not direct: the conditional path is Amex → BA Avios → linked Finnair Plus, subject to age, 30-day account, matching-details and two-factor-authentication rules.
  • Turkish is not a direct UK Amex partner and no supported indirect route was established.

Do not speculatively transfer. Find the reward seat and confirm the exact points price, cash component, passenger names, airport and transfer ratio first. RevPoints-to-airline redemptions and Amex partner transfers are final. Amex’s public Emirates timing estimates conflict, so the planner makes no arrival-time promise.

How to book London to Dubai with points

Keep the route, live quote and transfer in this order.

  1. Choose airport and programme

Fix passengers, dates, cabin and the exact direct or connecting path.

  2. Check route eligibility

Use the path’s London airport, DXB and Finnair’s October–March window.

  3. Search before transferring

Copy each direction’s live reward price and every cash charge; never double an outbound floor.

  4. Calculate value

Compare the same-date cash fare, reward charges and shortfall.

  5. Confirm the transfer route

Check the partner, ratio, increment, account and timing. Complete Finnair linking first.

  6. Acknowledge, transfer and book

Recheck the seat, tick the confirmation, move only the shortfall and book.

Should I transfer points before finding a Dubai seat?

No. Confirm each direction’s airport, reward price, full cash charges and transfer screen first. Value is ((cash fare − reward charges) ÷ points used) × 100; never double the outbound floor.
