RevPoints vs Avios: different currencies, not rivals

RevPoints are Revolut’s reward currency; Avios live inside airline loyalty programmes. You can transfer RevPoints directly to six Avios programmes in Revolut’s current public UK directory. Five—including Qatar Airways Privilege Club—publish an exact 1 RevPoint = 1 Avios rate; Finnair's live quote must be checked in the app.

The six direct Avios destinations are The British Airways Club, Iberia Club, AerClub, Vueling Club, Qatar Airways Privilege Club and Finnair Plus. They use the same Avios currency, but each programme keeps a separate account, balance and expiry rule.

Calculate a published 1:1 Avios transfer

This calculator applies the exact public 1:1 rate published for British Airways, Iberia, AerClub, Vueling and Qatar. Finnair remains app-check only. Open the destination programme in Revolut before committing because transfers are final.

RevPoints to Avios estimate

Enter between 1 and 999,999 RevPoints.

Confirm the exact destination, live rate, account name and reward availability in the Revolut and airline apps. A completed transfer cannot be reversed.

The six direct Avios destinations

Choose the programme in which you expect to book. Moving Avios between eligible linked accounts may be possible later, but it does not turn six accounts into one wallet and may not reset an expiry clock.

Expiry follows the destination account. Once RevPoints arrive as Avios, that programme’s rules control the balance. Do not assume activity in one Avios programme protects Avios held in another.

Same currency, separate wallets

Avios is the currency. The airline loyalty programme is the account that holds it, sets the expiry rules and presents the rewards you can book.

What is shared

  • All six programmes denominate balances in Avios.
  • Eligible members can often move Avios between certain linked programme accounts.
  • A transfer can help you put Avios where the desired reward is bookable.

What stays separate

  • Membership number and account balance.
  • Reward availability, pricing, taxes and fees.
  • Identity-linking requirements and transfer eligibility.
  • Expiry rule and qualifying activity.

Practical rule: search the reward first, identify the programme that can book it, check that programme’s balance and expiry, then inspect the live RevPoints quote. Transfer only what you need.

Do not transfer speculatively. RevPoints transfers are final, airline reward space can disappear and moving Avios between programmes is subject to account and identity rules. Read the full UK transfer-partner guide, or plan London–New York with RevPoints or Amex points, before moving a large balance.

RevPoints vs Avios questions

Are RevPoints and Avios the same thing?

No. RevPoints are Revolut’s reward currency. Avios are held in airline loyalty programmes. You can transfer RevPoints to a supported Avios programme, but the transfer is final and the Avios cannot be moved back to RevPoints.

Which Avios programmes can receive RevPoints directly in the UK?

Revolut’s current public UK directory lists six: The British Airways Club, Iberia Club, AerClub, Vueling Club, Qatar Airways Privilege Club and Finnair Plus.

Do the six Avios programmes share one balance?

No. Each programme keeps a separate account and balance. Eligible members may be able to move Avios between certain linked accounts, but identity rules, transfer eligibility and programme-specific expiry still apply.

What is the RevPoints to Avios transfer ratio?

British Airways, Iberia, AerClub, Vueling and Qatar Airways each publish 1 RevPoint = 1 Avios. We have not verified a partner-specific public Finnair rate, so check its live quote. For every destination, re-check the final Revolut screen before confirming an irreversible transfer.
